About The Project
Project Idea
Traditional language apps are great for drills but struggle to replicate a real conversation. Learners need a safe space to practice speaking, make mistakes, and get immediate, actionable feedback. The idea behind Blabber was to put a lifelike AI tutor in your pocket always available, always patient so users can practice anytime, anywhere. The AI adapts to level and goals, highlights pronunciation and grammar issues in the moment, and tracks growth over time. For schools and teachers, the app needed to align with textbooks and units, making it easy to reinforce classroom learning without creating extra admin.
Development
We built the application to deliver low-latency, two-way conversations with clear, human-sounding speech. Mobile clients handle camera/mic permissions and stream audio; a real-time pipeline processes speech-to-text, runs intent and feedback models, and returns synthesized responses with pronunciation and grammar notes. A curriculum service maps lessons to CEFR levels, exam prep, and travel/business scenarios, while personalization logic adapts prompts and difficulty based on recent performance. Authentication, push, and analytics keep users engaged; role-aware flows support learners, teachers, and admins; and COPPA-minded data handling keeps sessions private and controlled. The interface focuses on clarity Zoom-like sessions, progress snapshots, and quick entry points to review key vocabulary so practice feels natural, not heavy.

The result is a live, interactive learning companion that feels like practicing with a tutor who never gets tired. Learners enter a session, speak freely, and receive instant corrections on pronunciation, grammar, and fluency plus targeted exercises to fix weak spots.
